Over 150 Children
have greatly benefited from a newly established playground that includes colorful murals to enhance the play area, pony rides, bumper cars, tablet giveaways, basketball tournaments, movie sponsorships and boxing sponsorships. Over $45k has been dispersed for scholarships, and over $3k in career oriented sponsorships have been allocated.
As a result, New Hope Village and it's surrounding areas have been built up due to the increase of recreational activities.

ARE
Northwest Developers, Inc. ( NWD ) is located inside the New Hope Village Housing development in Newark, NJ. NWD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation whose mission is to empower and engage the community through educational, recreational, health, and vocational opportunities that assist with their immediate and long-term needs.
Casandra White is our Executive Director, who oversees the strategic operational efficiency of our programs. Our organization is governed by our Board of Directors, both with roots in the community who are familiar with the community's needs and who make all decisions regarding the programs to be developed, offered, and funded.
NWD is a "Developer of People". Our focus is on services for youth and seniors, but we also help families meet their pressing needs. NWD develops and funds a variety of programs for tenants at New Hope Village, as well as for low and moderate-income senior citizens, youth, and families residing in Newark and the surrounding Essex County area (including but not limited to East Orange, Orange, and Irvington).
